The Robot Hall of Fame is a yearly event started in 2003 by Carnegie Mellon University. Each year they have people around the world submit five different nominees from five different categories: Education and Consumer, Entertainment, Industrial and Service, Research, and People's Choice. The top few choices in each category get sent to a board of scholars, researchers, writers, designers and even the former C-3PO actor.[1] From the robots nominated, the jury selects the final inductees.
